The Ontario Investment and Trade Advisory Council supports economic development in the province by providing strategic advice and support to the government on investment and trade matters.
The Council is composed of a 15-member board that includes corporate champions with strong entrepreneurial experience, representation from Ontario's ethnic communities, as well as a cross section of business sectors.
The Ontario Investment and Trade Advisory Council's activities include:
- Identifying prospective investment and trade opportunities
- Promoting Ontario as a premier global location for investment, including for business immigrants
- Promoting Ontario’s export messages
- Advising on research to identify potential investment and trade opportunities
- Providing advice on how the Ministry can increase the effectiveness of its investment and trade programs
